This bout was OZRG's first bout ever. It was an honor to pop their bout cherries! They were great. From the minute they got to Rollarama, they were all about helping us set up and get ready.

This bout was kinda cool for me because I went to college with one of the Oz skaters - Insane Assilem! (Top row, second girl from left). She lived right across the hall from me in good ol' Steinmetz Hall at SUNY Albany. Whoever thought Steinmetz would produce two rocking derby girls? Then again, there's a lot it produced that none of us ever could've called.

This won't be the last we see of OZRG. They've been known to swoop in on Assault City Mixed Scrimmages - I'm sure we'll see 'em there sometime soon!

The Hellions are excited to welcome the Oz Roller Girls to our home turf in just two weeks!

I've met the Oz Roller Girls on a couple occasions, thanks to the Assault City scrimmages. I think I just discovered I went to college with one of their skaters?!  Thank you Facebook.

As usual, we're offering a special derby discount to local roller girls: where your team jersey, scrimmage shirt, or other artifact with your team logo/image on it and get into the bout for only $5 at the door.

2011 Winter - Spring Season

We've got a fun season coming up. Hopefully debuting some new girls in our home bouts, and taking on some challenging teams away. One bout I'm excited for: Green Mountain Derby Dames up in Vermont. Skiing anyone? Happy we're taking on WFTDA leagues - I love learning more and more about the organization when we get to play teams who are members. Still got my eye on the prize for the Hellions - one day!

All home games take place at Rollarama in Schenectady. Hope you're able to make it out to a bout (or three!) this season!

Check out this webpage that I recently came across. Someone (wayfaring user futurnovelis556) put together a map of all (?) the roller derby leagues in the world. I say "?" because I am not sure when this was created or last updated, but it includes the Hellions of Troy! And check out how many leagues there are in New York and the Northeast! I guess you can say, we're on the map!
